On August 16, the InnovaNet Group was invited to speak at the Lewisburg, Tennessee Manufacturing Association. CEO Mike Cobb delivered a presentation on the topic of Maximizing Value Across the Capital Project Lifecycle. Objectives included helping attendees learn how to create flow, eliminate waste and achieve balance within the manufacturing operations with an eye towards adding value to capital projects. During his speech, Mike discussed concepts applicable to discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, manufacturing supply chain and distribution, material handling, inventory management, maintenance, repair and overhaul, engineering and construction, office and service delivery and also project management. Highlighted case studies included Hill Air Force Base MRO Operations, Nestle Waters (Perrier), Cisco (Scientific Atlanta), BrightSource/Ivanpah Solar Thermal Facility, Lean Workshops, the Houston METRO Lean Curriculum and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Fabrication/Machining Operation.
The well-attended session included manufacturers from the Lewisburg area that represented a wide range of industry sectors. Lewisburg is home to numerous automotive suppliers because of its strategic proximity to automotive OEMs in Tennessee, Alabama and Kentucky.
