Mike Cobb, PhD of InnovaNet and Betty Hawk of 3M Companies were presenters at the “Graduate Student Management and Mentorship” workshop at Georgia Tech School of Chemistry and Biochemistry on May 9th. This 6 hour workshop focused on assisting faculty members and advisors in developing individualized interaction plans with and for graduate students that are under their mentorship and to ensure that the goals and objectives of both the faculty member and the student are fully aligned. The group exercises and case studies discussed communication styles, behavioral change strategies and the leadership/mentorship model.
Dr. Cobb is a graduate of Georgia Tech School of Chemistry (1980) and serves on the Board of Advisors of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry. He has an extensive career in business and is a Founding Partner of InnovaNet, based in Atlanta.
Betty Hawk is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College (1981). She is a Vice President at 3M, where she has held leadership positions for over twenty five years. Betty also serves on the Board of Advisors of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
